Nose Pad 101: What Nose Pad Are You?

Nose Pads on Glasses

Have you ever bought a new pair of glasses or sunglasses and you absolutely love them EXCEPT… they fit a little weird? But you don’t want to return them because they are exactly your style? So, you just suffer through a little bit of discomfort? Yep. I’ve been there. More times than I’d like to admit. However, we no longer have to do that. Nose Pads come in many different shapes, sizes, and colors to help you keep your styled glasses and be comfortable.

Up, Up, and Away

Woman on a plane, wearing earplugs, after going through TSA

The year is quickly coming to a close. Here in the Midwest, we have already received our first snowfall. To be honest, I’m not sure if I’m excited about this or deeply saddened. Either way, I can’t do much about it. My puppy is all about it though, so I suppose I HAVE to like it now. With the cold weather, we need something to look forward to. For me (and many others) it is the holiday season and/or traveling. However, traveling with a medical condition or chronic illness can seem daunting. Simply thinking of how many supplies you need, bringing sharps through TSA, and getting everyone out the door on time is chaotic.

Interview With Quinn Nystrom

Interview With Quinn Nystrom

This monthly spotlight is a little different than normal. On September 5th, 2019, I had the opportunity to speak with Quinn Nystrom about #Insulin4All. The reason this spotlight is different is because we were able to record it. At the bottom of this page, you will find a link to the full interview on our YouTube Channel. First, let me give you a little background.

For those of you that don’t know Quinn Nystrom yet, she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes as a child. Ironically, just a few years after her brother was diagnosed. When her little brother was diagnosed, she began campaigning and raising thousands of dollars for diabetes research to help her younger brother. That was just the big sister in her.

She has spent the majority of her life fighting for her life and doing the same for others that battle all kinds of diabetes. Now, she is raising the bar. Quinn is officially running as a Congressional Candidate for the Minnesota 8th district to help be the change that she wants to see in the world. We have lost lives due to the high cost of insulin across the world and T1International is trying to change that.

In the interview, Quinn discusses #Insulin4All, her book, childhood, diabetes tips, and more.

Linked below is the full-length interview on our YouTube channel. Go check it out! I promise you, Quinn’s passion will ignite a spark in you to help in some way. You can help out in small ways. For example, sharing information on your social media channels can help a lot. Every little bit makes a difference.

Where to Next?

Suitcase ready for travel

Who here is a fan of traveling? I AM. I AM. ME! To be honest, I’m the person that is constantly dreaming of my next destination. Dreaming of sitting on the beach next to turquoise waters with a mojito in my hand…. Yeah, that sounds pretty dang nice right now. I’m not saying that you need to hop on a plane and head to the smallest island over in Eastern Asia to travel or the South Pole if Antarctica is more your style. Even just taking a road trip to a new town in your state counts. There are many places in Minnesota that I have not yet explored but am adding to my road trip list.

Fall Weather And Flu Season

Tissues for the flu season

The leaves are changing, and the air is getting crisp, which means that the flu season is getting closer and closer. Flu viruses are most common during the fall and winter months. Influenza activity typically begins to increase in October and November, but peaks between December and February. However, the flu season can stick around as late as May. I know, May is the time when you start prepping for Summer. But keep up your healthy habits to avoid that last surge of flu season.

Get Organized Week

This week has been full of National Holidays. If you’ve even glanced at your Instagram feed this week I’m sure you were hit in the face with all the couple photos celebrating #NationalBoyfriendDay. Which by the way, it is not a super fun holiday to celebrate if you’re super single. I’m here to talk about a holiday that we can all enjoy, single or taken, it is Get Organized Week! Get Organized Week is the first week of October…clearly, I’m not that organized this week as this is coming to you at the end of the week. Better late than never, right? That’s what I’m telling myself anyway.

Adventure Into Fall

As of today, it is officially Autumn. Whether you’re excited about that or not, it’s here. To be honest, I can’t decide if I’m excited or not. I love watching the leaves turn into hues of yellow, orange, and red. Breathing in the crisp air as the sun still filters through, but it’s still cold enough to wear a sweater. All of that is great, except snow fall comes after fall here in Minnesota and that is what I’m not excited for.

New Week. New Resolutions.

Yes, it may be the middle of September. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t start new resolutions. It can be pretty easy to lose sight of what our New Year’s Resolutions were. Just because you faded off track doesn’t mean that you can’t start again. You don’t need the start of a new year to focus on yourself. Start today. The start of a new week can be the start of new resolutions.
