Interview With Quinn Nystrom

Interview With Quinn Nystrom

This monthly spotlight is a little different than normal. On September 5th, 2019, I had the opportunity to speak with Quinn Nystrom about #Insulin4All. The reason this spotlight is different is because we were able to record it. At the bottom of this page, you will find a link to the full interview on our YouTube Channel. First, let me give you a little background.

For those of you that don’t know Quinn Nystrom yet, she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes as a child. Ironically, just a few years after her brother was diagnosed. When her little brother was diagnosed, she began campaigning and raising thousands of dollars for diabetes research to help her younger brother. That was just the big sister in her.

She has spent the majority of her life fighting for her life and doing the same for others that battle all kinds of diabetes. Now, she is raising the bar. Quinn is officially running as a Congressional Candidate for the Minnesota 8th district to help be the change that she wants to see in the world. We have lost lives due to the high cost of insulin across the world and T1International is trying to change that.

In the interview, Quinn discusses #Insulin4All, her book, childhood, diabetes tips, and more.

Linked below is the full-length interview on our YouTube channel. Go check it out! I promise you, Quinn’s passion will ignite a spark in you to help in some way. You can help out in small ways. For example, sharing information on your social media channels can help a lot. Every little bit makes a difference.

Motherhood And More

We are back for our second Monthly Spotlight—yay! Being a mother is hard work (I don’t personally know this, although my puppy is a handful. All I can think of is my mother raising me and two other daughters…. Can you imagine all the unnecessary drama that came through our house growing up?! I bet we made her want to pull her hair out). Now, imagine being a mother to twin toddlers, working a full-time job, and managing Type 1 Diabetes (which is basically another full-time job). This is what Michelle Grant does every day.

The Type 1 Diabetic community is so large, and everyone is doing amazing things everyday (more than just fighting the disease, which is amazing in itself). I have decided to create a Monthly Spotlight where I’ll share about a family, person, or group in the diabetic community in the hopes to bring everyone a little closer and inspire others. It can be hard to deal with diabetes day after day, especially when you just want a break, but can’t take one (that has serious consequences). This months Spotlight goes to TheATeam!
